City of Albany and the Albany Community Foundation held 3 park clean up days during the spring. Memorial, Ocean
View and Jewel's Terrace Park were all weeded and drought resistant plants were planted and trees were trimed. City
staff, ACF members and neighbors had a great time getting to know each other while improving the parks.

| Removing the weeds from the sidewalk and street |
A very successful work party was held June 19 on Jackson
Street between the Castro steps and Hillside. Most of the weeds were removed and the plants which had been planted last
fall were seen to be growing and thriving. This is part of an ongoing attempt by the Community Foundation and the
City of Albany to remove weeds and plant native species in that area.

The Albany Community Foundation has been a major supporter of the
Arts and Music Festival (now Arts and Green Festival) since 2005. This year's event was a huge success with many people
enjoying the beautiful weather, appreciating the different art booths, dancing to the music and learning new and exciting
ways to be more sustainable. The 2010 Arts and Green Festival was a partnership of the City of Albany Recreation Department,
the City of Albany Arts and Sustainability Committees, and the Albany Community Foundation.
